Pastor Tan Seow How is Visionary, Pastor, Leader, Teacher and Businessman, all rolled into one.
In 1999, together with his wife, Pastor Cecilia, they founded Heart of God Church with 3 other members. Now in 2010, this vibrant church is now Home to more than 1600 members; most of whom are under 25 years old.
Pastor How’s heart is for the young men and women to grow in wisdom, stature, and in favor with God and men. He wants to see them real and relevant; radical but not reckless.
His messages are simple, yet life-changing. His core message is centered around: Character, Maturity and Sustainable Idealism.
Pastor How’s vision is to “Raise up a generation of people who are willing to give God the best years of their lives…” And he has lived it out personally. He gave up the lucrative prospects of taking over his family’s multimillion-dollar business and chose to heed God’s call to become a Pastor instead. Yet 13 years later, it has come a full circle and Pastor How has taken over the reins of the business, and has built it up to become a major South-East Asian distributor of branded home audio products such as - Sonos and Klipsch.
His least favourite word in the English vocabulary is – "Cannot". His favourite word is "Others".

Inspiring, Pastoral and Funky.
Pastor Cecilia Chan is a combination of all these elements. A former journalist with the Straits Times, she is known as ‘Pastor Lia’ to the church. She also ministers strongly from the pulpit, and together with her husband Pastor How, they preach the Word of God every week.
As the other founder of the church, she believes in building a strong church committed to being relevant in society. Her all-consuming desire is to raise generations of youths who shine in character and are passionate for Jesus.
In 1999, she took nine older kids from the Children’s Church and founded the youth ministry and today, it has grown into a youth ministry of over 1000 youths. Out of her pioneering spirit, the worship ministry was also birthed. It has progressed from a single acoustic guitar to its present four full-bands of worship teams.
One of her favourite phrases from the Bible? When Caleb requested, “Give me this mountain!” (Joshua 14:12)
