As a church, we believe in building bridges and not walls. Therefore, to serve the community, build strong ties with other races and religions, and strengthen harmony in multi-racial and multi-religious Singapore, we have partnered with members of the Geylang Serai Inter-Racial and Religious Confidence Circle (IRCC). Here are some of the events that we have participated in:
HOGC was mentioned in our Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's Instagram post for the work we have been doing in the community:
"I am not afraid of failure. I am afraid of succeeding at things that don't matter."
- William Carey
Success & Significance
In 1885, the "Cambridge Seven" stunned the world. These sons of power and privilege chose the alternative life and became missionaries to China.
One of these was C.T. Studd, a brilliant young man and a household name in cricket within the British Empire. He wrote: "Only one life 'twill soon be past. Only what's done for Christ will last."
Heart of God Church Young Adults are alternativists, a word coined by Pastor How which combines alternative + activists. We want to show the world that an alternative exists to the typical Singaporean life. In God, we can have both success and significance.
