Since its founding, Heart of God Church has worshipped, served and built generations of young people from rented spaces.
Through every season, God has been good to us. As we mark a new chapter in 2026, we are grateful for the opportunity to take a step towards a new space where generations can belong.
Imaginarium Media has acquired some units within Generations @ Tannery, a new development at Tannery Lane scheduled for completion in 2029. The space is planned for Imaginarium Media's operations, and to serve as a secondary site for HOGC's youth, media and community activities, subject to the relevant approvals.
Room to Grow and Serve
For HOGC, church is more than weekend services.
Our spaces support spiritual growth, holistic youth development, leadership and creative training, youth camps and activities that serve the wider community. They are places where young people build friendships, grow in faith and leadership, discover their gifts, and are empowered to make a difference.
Since the beginning, we have operated from rented premises, subject to the needs and decisions of landlords. Today, HOGC pays more than S$3 million in rent each year, and our growing congregation sometimes requires us to rent additional venues.
After more than two decades of renting, we are taking steps towards securing a space that we own, one that can serve our church, our youth and the wider community for generations to come.
Our Journey
Finding the right space has required patience and preparation. Over the years, HOGC has explored numerous options and continued to set aside resources towards our space needs.
Our Building Committee, comprising members of our leadership and Board, has been closely involved in searching for and evaluating options throughout this journey.
In 2025, one of the opportunities we pursued was the government-released religious site at Alkaff Crescent. We were not successful in the ballot.
The site had been a particularly good fit for our congregation, centrally located and near public transport for our large student demographic, while providing enough space for our growing congregation.
While we did not get the ballot, we continued to pray, prepare and trust God to lead us. We believe He closes some doors and opens others in His time.
A Space Made Possible with Partnerships
Imaginarium Media Pte Ltd (opens in a new tab) is a media and creative agency and a subsidiary of HOGC, with a diverse portfolio of clients and projects across industries. Its work spans media production, creative development and content creation, while creating opportunities for young creatives to learn, collaborate and grow.
As Imaginarium Media's creative and media operations continue to grow, an opportunity emerged for Imaginarium Media and HOGC to work together on a new space, Generations @ Tannery. This supports Imaginarium Media's expanding production needs while creating additional space for HOGC's youth and community activities, as well as our media production and office needs.
Imaginarium Media came alongside Providence Group (opens in a new tab) as an early strategic partner of Generations @ Tannery, contributing to the vision for the development. It subsequently acquired four floors of the building, with HOGC partnering with Imaginarium Media on the future use of the space.
Generations @ Tannery
Generations @ Tannery is a new 12-storey freehold B1 industrial development at 71 Tannery Lane, on the site of the former City Industrial Building. It is developed by Providence Group (opens in a new tab), whose approach to redemptive real estate places a strong emphasis on partnership, people and community. The development’s remaining units have been sold commercially and it is scheduled for completion in 2029.
Generations @ Tannery is envisioned as a community where businesses, creative and media companies, social enterprises and faith-based organisations can work, create and serve alongside one another, in line with B1 industrial guidelines.
Located about a six-minute walk from Mattar MRT and close to upcoming residential developments, it offers convenient access for our young people and opportunities to serve the community as the surrounding area grows.
The development's freehold tenure offers greater long-term certainty than our current rented premises, giving future generations a more stable space to grow and serve.
A Space for Media, Creativity, Youth and Community
Imaginarium Media will use the space for its growing media and creative production activities, including developing wholesome media content, providing co-media production spaces, training young creatives and creating opportunities for them to collaborate and grow.
At the new space, Imaginarium Media can also partner with HOGC to serve the community in the upcoming residential developments.
HOGC plans to use part of the space for its own media production activities, as additional office space and for youth activities, as well as to serve the community in the upcoming residential developments.
If given the relevant approvals for non-exclusive and limited religious use based on URA guidelines, the space may also be used as a secondary site for our youth service.

HOGC has been renting for 27 years and currently pays more than S$3 million a year in rent, while sometimes needing to rent additional venues as our congregation grows.
For us, pursuing a permanent space is also about wise stewardship. Renting comes with uncertainty; leases have time limits and rental costs fluctuate. Rather than continuing to put significant resources into rent indefinitely, we believe it is prudent to work towards a space that can provide greater stability and serve the church and our young people for generations.
For more than two decades, HOGC has been preparing for our long-term space needs and setting aside resources through our Building, Equipment and Rental Fund. These reserves have been built over the years to pay for the significant costs of securing and developing more space for the church and our young people.
Even with these reserves, we still need to raise additional funds. We hope to fund the purchase and subsequent renovations without taking a bank loan, and will continue to raise funds towards the project over the next few years, as well as to support our existing church.
The purchase of the space was approved by HOGC’s Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM). While we were able to secure the space at a favourable price, this remains our largest financial project to date. Over the years, our members have faithfully given and sacrificed towards this need, believing together that one day we could prepare a place for generations to come. We are deeply grateful for their generosity and faithfulness.

If the relevant approvals are granted, the space at Generations @ Tannery may also be used for our youth services on a non-exclusive and limited basis, in accordance with applicable URA guidelines.
HOGC already conducts religious services at its current B1 industrial premises at 115 Eunos Avenue 3 on a non-exclusive and limited basis, so this would not be a new type of arrangement for us.
HOGC plans to continue renting our current premises at 115 Eunos Avenue 3 if the terms are favourable and it remains financially feasible.
Generations @ Tannery is planned as a secondary site, providing additional space for our youth and community activities, as well as our media production and office needs.
